Interior Design & Space Planning
Interior design is the work of making a room function well and feel right at the same time. It starts with how you live or work, then shapes the layout, finishes, lighting and furniture into one consistent scheme.
How we help
We begin with how you live or work, then shape layouts, finishes and a cohesive scheme so every decision supports the same idea.
The challenge
A home or workplace can have good bones and still feel awkward: furniture that never quite fits, rooms that do not flow, and too many choices to make alone.
What this can include
- Initial consultation and brief
- Space planning and furniture layout
- Colour, material and finish direction
- Lighting and styling recommendations
Planning notes: interior design
Start with how the room is used
List who uses the space, when and for what. A living room used for family evenings needs different seating and lighting from one used mainly for guests.
Plan the layout before the finishes
Where doors open, where light falls and how people move through the room decide what fits. Choosing colours and furniture before the plan is a common source of costly mistakes.
Keep the palette small
Two or three materials and one accent, repeated through the room, read as calm and considered.
Layer the lighting
A single ceiling light rarely suits every task. Combining ambient, task and accent light makes a room usable at different times of day.
Common questions
What does an interior design consultation cover?
We talk through the space, how you use it, your tastes and any practical needs, and agree what the project should achieve. You can send photos, measurements or inspiration images beforehand using the enquiry form.
Do I need drawings or measurements before I enquire?
No. A few photos and a rough idea of the room size are enough to start. We will explain what to measure if it is needed.
Can you work on one room rather than a whole home?
Describe the room or rooms you have in mind in your enquiry and we will suggest a sensible scope.
